Avoiding sensitive natural features is a starting condition for our site selection and campus design, not something addressed after the fact. Before finalizing any campus layout, we conduct environmental field investigations to identify wetlands, watercourses, and mature or old-growth forest on and around the site, and we design around them wherever possible.

Our Approach to Natural Features

We prioritize sites on land that has already been zoned for prior industrial or agricultural use, rather than untouched natural land. We also design campus layouts to keep construction away from wetlands, watercourses, and forest areas with the highest ecological value.

Where some disturbance to natural habitat can't reasonably be avoided, we undertake habitat offset measures to compensate for it — restoring, enhancing, or protecting comparable habitat to account for what's affected. The goal is that any unavoidable impact is offset, not simply left as a net loss.
